Chelsea manager, Antonio Conte, has told his squad that they have to win their remaining six matches, if they must win the Premier League.
The Italian was speaking after watching his side defeat Manchester City 2-1 on Wednesday night at Stamford Bridge.
Eden Hazard scored twice, as the Blues maintained their seven-point lead at the top of the table. But Conte is wary of Tottenham in second place, who came back from a goal down to beat Swansea 3-1.
Conte said: “A big win for us. For sure, it’s a good win. Tottenham’s result is important, but the most important results is ours. We have to continue to think like this.
“The only message I have given them is that Tottenham must win eight games. So we must…(1)make six wins and (2)take 18 points. If we do this, we will win the title.
“If we don’t do that, it will have been a good season, but not a ‘good’ season.
“This is the best way for us (to think). For us to win at this part of the season against City is great. But we have to think about the next game. We took three points today, and Tottenham took three points the same.
“In Italy, for me, honestly, it was easier to find the right words to motivate my players. Here I’m studying English but I’m not at a great level to give great motivational talks. But I try.
“I push, sometimes with words, sometimes with my hands. [I’ll do it with] Numbers now… six wins. Six wins.”
