Current reports have it that the Supreme Court of Nigeria has set aside the ruling of the Court of Appeal staying the further execution of the Order of Interlocutory Injunction restraining the All Progressives Congress, APC, from conducting further congresses in Rivers State.
The apex court said allowing APC to retain the outcome of the latter Congresses it conducted would amount to a reward for disobedience.
"How can they ask and be granted a stay of execution of an order they flagrantly disobeyed? The court does not exist to bless the disobedience of those who do not regard and respect it".
"The Supreme Court cannot allow people to benefit from their own stupidity," Supreme Court ruled.
Groovenaija360 recalls that Ibrahim Umar and 22 others loyal to Senator Magnus Abe, a frontline governorship candidate under the platform of the APC has dragged the party to court over their unlawful exclusion from the APC congresses that heard in the state.
By this judgment, all actions previously taken by the Hon. Ojukaye Flag Amachree led state executive of the party may just have been thrown into nullity including all candidates for elective offices in the 2019 General Elections.
